This gorgeous Chocolate Cake is wonderfully rich and baked straight into the tin you can present it in!

Topped with a few Chocolates for extra tastiness!

To make this yummy treat for your Valentines, you will need

For the Cake:

  • 2oz Butter
  • 2oz Caster Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2tbsp Milk
  • 1oz Plain Flour
  • 1oz Cocoa Powder

For the Topping:

  • 1oz Icing Sugar
  • 1oz Cocoa Powder
  • 4tbsp Milk
  • 1oz Melted White Chocolate
  • Chocolates or Truffles
  • Sugar Hearts or Sprinkles

A Heart or other shaped tin (you can get these tins from my online shop for just £2.99!)

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees then cream together your butter and sugar.

Add in the egg and whisk with a fork.

Then add in the milk and mix.

Finally add in the Cocoa Powder & Plain Flour and give it a thorough mix.

Just look at that yummy rich cake mix!

Fill your cake tin until it’s about halfway full and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

Perfect!

Now grab your chocolates and get ready to decorate!

Pop them on a cooling rack before piping the White Chocolate on.

Pipe the Melted White Chocolate over your Chocolates in pretty patterns.

Use your Heart Sprinkles to decorate too..

Cute.

Now to make the Chocolate Icing. Mix together the Icing Sugar and Cocoa Powder.

And add the milk, mixing until you have a thick, shiny Icing.

Then pour over the cake!

Make sure you have a thick smooth layer to push your chocolate into.

Push your decorated chocolates into the icing and wait for it to set.

Finished! So simple and such a nice homemade gift!

Yum! I had to taste test it of course….

Enjoy baking!
